150 Trees
As we celebrate our 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Peoria, we invite you to live our call to help care for God’s creation, one of our Catholic Social Teaching principles.
We’d love for our parishes, parishes, schools, religious orders, families, individuals, and other Catholic organizations and ministries to plant a tree in honor of our anniversary. Our prayer is that we will, as a Diocese, plant 150 trees across our 26 counties!
We have put together two options to participate:
OPTION A – Order a Tree through the Diocese of Peoria
Click here to order a tree. Trees will cost $200 and will include a tree, a prayer for the blessing of your tree, commemorative plaque, and instructions on how to plant and care for the tree.
Wilson’s Services of Peoria will deliver your tree following a schedule to 5 vicariates one year and to 5 vicariates the second year. The Diocese will communicate with you when your tree will be delivered to your respective vicariate.
OPTION B – You are welcome to purchase a tree on your own and plant it.
If you would like, we can provide a prayer for the blessing of your tree, a commemorative plaque, and instructions on how to plant and care for the tree for $50.
Click here to order the plaque.
Either way, we would love for you to email us a photo of your tree planting so we can share it on social media and our other communication channels. You can email the photo to communications@cdop.org.
Thank you for celebrating our anniversary and God’s beautiful world He blessed us with in the Diocese of Peoria!
